Andrew trained at Brighton College of Art in Painting and Printmaking. Then he studied at The Central School of Art and Design in Printed Textiles and Surface Decoration. He is currently head of the Printed Textile course at the University of East London. Alongside this he is a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers and chair of their Fashion Textile Group. Andrew is a very well known textile designer selling work to clients all over the world such as Calvin Klein. He is also a very talented photographer and printmaker working as wood engraver and linocut artist. When not teaching and designing he retreats for inspiration to a small house in southern Spain near the town of Nerja in Andalucia where he draws, paints and engraves. With a bottle of Rioja in his bag he treks along the sun soaked beaches and cycles up into the mountain villages and beyond. Here he draws and photographs the landscape and its exotic vegetation as well as sampling the local gastronomic delicacies offered by the local tapas bars!! His fascination with cactus palm trees and Andalucian architcture has inspired him to produce a range of lino cut prints which combine a very keen eye for detail and decoration along with a highly individual and humerous approach the process.
